What is a Wellness Champion?

A Wellness Champion is an employee with a commitment to health that serves as an ambassador for the employee wellness program, Well Connected. They volunteer to assist in the implementation and coordination of wellness initiatives at their location or from home. They share information, engage friends and colleagues to participate in wellness programs and create excitement around leading a healthy lifestyle.

Maintain and improve the health of our employees and their families while focusing efforts to curb rising health costs of Lumen. We will create and support a culture of health and wellness through national and local initiatives that motivate our employees to take personal accountability of their health and those around them.

Are you a Wellness Champion?

We encourage you to sign up to be a Wellness Champion if you embody the following:

  • Embrace health and wellness in your personal life
  • Interest in motivating others to live a healthy life
  • Desire to assist or organize health and wellness events at your worksite
  • Sincerely want to help fellow employees enhance their quality of life
  • Encourage employee responsibility for his or her own health and general wellbeing
  • Positive and open in support of your colleagues' pursuit of health and well-being as well as efforts to effectively balance work-life demands
  • Ability to devote one to four hours per month to this initiative

Expectations/Responsibilities

Serving as a Wellness Champion will not take a lot of extra time. This role is essential, however, to the success of the Well Connected program. If you are looking for a unique opportunity to help yourself and others to improve health and well-being, please become a Well Connected Wellness Champion.

Wellness Champion expectations:

  • Active involvement membership for at least 12 months
  • Attend monthly champion meetings/calls
  • Develop a solid understanding of the Well Connected program, including wellness activities and services
  • Market, promote and support wellness programs, activities, events and initiatives
  • Represent coworkers by collecting ideas and feedback about the program
  • Share information and engage colleagues to participate in the Well Connected program
